Sevilla
This historic city in the heart of Andalucía is
one of the many jewels in Southern Spain’s crown. Home
to some of the most striking monuments from across the
ages, Seville is a city full of traditional custom originated
back many years. The orange tree lined plazas and captivating
architecture have been influenced by all of the major
recent great civilizations. From the Romans to the Moors,
and many in between, all have all left their mark in Seville
which is still evident today. Along with this the city
retains its authentic Spanish charm. The city’s Alcazar
Royal Palace and Gardens, dominating Giralda minaret,
Tower of Gold, Guadalquivir River, Plaza de Espana, are
a few of the impressive sights and monuments on offer
in Seville.
Also
the home of Flamenco music with its unique melodies and
unmistakable passion, Seville retains much of its history.
The Barrio Santa Cruz in the city centre with its winding
streets, Arab baths, monasteries, and quaint plazas, is
always a popular place to visit. Outside of the city there
are fascinating white villages all with their own sense
of identity and charm. Ronda is one of the most impressive
of the mountain towns suspended hundreds of metres above
the Tajo gorge a few kilometres from Seville. Italica
and Carmona, even closer to the outskirts have long histories
and stunning views across the Andalucían landscape.
